WHAT PEOPLE SAY
I signed up for Snowbasin in early 2019. I was turning 50 later in the year, and I wanted to do something meaningful for myself. Aside from one 5k run for charity, I had never participated in a sports challenge so I was full of fear, self doubts and some extra pounds. Luckily I had Jarrod Marrs by my side. Over the course of 5 months we met 3 or 4 times a week where he patiently taught me everything I needed to know: strength training, building endurance, footwear and other equipment, nutrition, hydration, breathing, and most importantly, how to harness the power of a positive mind and attitude. I entered the event with confidence and determination, and without the extra pounds, and I Everested in less time than I expected. I left the mountain a better and stronger person, and I now apply Jarrod’s teachings in many areas of my daily life.
Jarrod has been my trainer for 5+ years and I recommend him to all my friends and family. He has prepared me for multiple endurance events, including swim-runs, marathons, and 29029. He has always taken into account my short term and long term goals and tailored his workouts and nutritional planning to meet my goals. He is very engaging, motivating and well versed in his training methods; all while keeping the workouts fun and entertaining and non-repetitious. He has prepared me to become a new person based not only on my physical abilities, but also my mental strength and perseverance. I am very happy I met Jarrod and am excited to have him as a coach in Whistler.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does this coaching differ from the 20 week training guide that is included with the registration fee that I already paid for?

After your 3rd month of 1:1 coaching, we’ll send you hiking poles and a headlamp for night hiking, as well as a box of 29029 apparel.
